Task:  Manage the Symantec Internet Tools division's Web site. Transition the site from a centralized corporate structure to independent maintenance. Ensure that software products are available for trial, beta, and purchase downloads.

Solution:  Worked closely with product management and marketing to determine corporate and customer Web site needs. Worked with the Marketing team and graphic designers to develop a new layout that meets the corporate standards. Worked with engineering, software configuration, and product management to renovate the Update Centers. Coordinated efforts with the electronic commerce and corporate Internet services groups to provide customers with trialware and online purchase products. Selected, hired, and trained this position’s full-time replacement.

Service:  Technical Publications manager

Task:   Manage and build the technical writing team for a four year old software startup.

Solution:  Reorganized and designed the new manual set for the next product release. Worked closely with engineering and customer services to understand customer needs and streamline the technical information exchange process between groups. Hired two new writers and laid out a new documentation process.
